The IUCN Green List website is proud to host Vital Sites: The Journey to Marseille
The Idea
Building up to the Protected Planet Pavilion at the IUCN World Conservation Congress in Marseille, France (to be rescheduled in 2021 in light of the COVID-19 pandemic), by showcasing protected and conserved areas as effective and positive for the people and the planet.
A Range of Online Activities
The journey will highlight stories, expert opinions, and case studies on the importance of protected and conserved areas, from around the world with a series of multimedia events and activities on our new digital platform.
Achieving the Promise of Sydney
It has been more than 5 years since the IUCN World Parks Congress 2014 in Sydney, where commitments were made towards the health and well-being of the planet. The journey marks the 60th anniversary of WCPA and the run-up to the IUCN World Conservation Congress by tracking the world’s progress to these goals.
