Tech4Nature
IUCN will develop a standard for appropriate use of Tech in nature conservation, especially protected areas through the IUCN Green List. IUCN will work with at least 5 flagship protected and conserved areas worldwide, and a further cohort of committed sites, through activities that will use appropriate technology applications to support conservation actions, site evaluation, and data management.
By 2023, the initial 3 year Huawei IUCN TECH4NATURE partnership of the Tech4All Initiative will enable more than 300 protected areas worldwide to assess and evaluate nature conservation success.
These areas will secure habitats and ecosystems that provide benefits to local communities through fair and effective management and monitoring activities .
IUCN’s Green List Standard will measure and certify impact and contribution of 300 better protected areas to SDGs, evaluated by more than 1,000 trained and connected experts from China and the world.
Success will be recognized and celebrated at global events, including IUCN WCC.
