Site Summary

Tangjiahe National Nature Reserve was established in 1978 with the approval of the StateCouncil, and was promoted to be the National Nature Reserve in 1986. It is a 40,000 hectares reservefocusing on conserving forest and wildlife, whose primary conservation objectives are rare wildlifespecies such as giant panda, takin and golden snub-nosed monkey. Tangjiahe Nature Reserve is located in Qingchuan County, Guangyuan City on the northern margin of Sichuan Basin, east end of Minshan Mountains and the southern foot of Motianling, and contains the core habitat for the giant panda population in Minshan Mountains.
